Municipality of Dao

The Municipality of Dao, located in the province of Capiz in the Philippines, has a population of 33,842 people as of the 2020 census. It is classified as a 4th class municipality and is located 32 kilometers away from Roxas City.

History

The municipality of Dao was established after the creation of the province of Capiz in 1901. During the Panay operation of the Japanese 41st Infantry Regiment on April 16, 1942, it was occupied by the Japanese. In 1957, the barrio of Nasuli-B was renamed to Santo Tomas.
