Municipality of Mambusao

Mambusao is a third-class municipality in the province of Capiz, Philippines, located 36 kilometers (22 miles) away from Roxas City. It has an estimated population of 40,690 according to the 2020 census data from the Bureau of Statistics and Populations.

The population density of Mambusao is 780 inhabitants per square mile or 300 people per square kilometer.

The economy of Mambusao is primarily based on agriculture, with rice as the main product, along with coconuts. The town also holds an annual festival called Inilusan, in honor of St. Catherine of Alexandria, who is the town’s patron saint.

Mambusao is the birthplace of the Villareal family, with the most famous member being Speaker Cornelio “Agurang Coni”. It is also the birthplace of former Filipino ambassador and politician, Roy Señeres. The current Mayor of Mambusao is Luz Labao.

The municipality of Mambusao is divided into 26 barangays.
